Well, in hopes that people will actually come to this forum, I'm putting up my next "great" idea for a short project. I love action movies, as many of you must know by now. But there is one genre of action movie that I think dominates over all else. It is a fairly new genre with John Wu leading the way. It is called "gun-fu". If you're not sure what gun-fu is, just think of all those awesome Jet Li movies that have come out where he not only kicks butt with a katana or his bare hands but also a sleek, sexy, 9mm semi-automatic pistol! OH YEAH! You know the ones I'm talking about.
The film I have in mind is inspired by Jet Li's latest gun-fu entitled "War". It was awesome, and I loved all the cool Yakuza stuff in it! (I'm a sucker for a good Japanese gangster movie!) I've recruited the help of sword-fight choreographer and stunt-man Steven Ovensen. I've come up with some ideas and Steven has sketched up some action sequences that we want to work out.
So, if you're interested in helping, rather acting, supplying weapon props (sturdy, unsharpened katanas, or realistic looking handgun toys), or just want to help but don't think you can handle those other roles, (Yes, there are plenty of other spots to fill on the set of a film) then feel free to leave a reply to this post or send me a PM. _________________ Soaking Guns - Winner of 5 Film Festival Awards! |
